In this blog, we will dicusss about DMPS. To explain briefly, DMPS is short for 2, 3-Dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid (pronounced dye-mer-cap-toe-pro-pain-sull-fon-ic acid). It is a sulfonic acid salt with free SH-groups that forms complexes with heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, arsenic, lead, copper, silver, tin, and others.

DMPS is created through a series of complex chemical reactions. It is not found in nature. It was first developed in the 1950s in Russia for the treatment of mercury and lead poisoning and has been sold under the brand names Dimovol and Unithiol in Germany and Russia, respectively.

So, to know more about DMPS, let check it out in this blog .
